Carlos González has 30 years of experience designing residential and commercial interiors. After receiving a degree in architecture in his native Colombia, González moved to New York where he worked with noted AD100 interior designer Juan Montoya. During his long-time tenure as Design Director at Juan Montoya Design, González worked on numerous projects that were featured in Architectural Digest and Interior Design, as well as multiple other publications.
He opened his eponymously named firm in 2012, working with a truly international clientele. Comfortable working all over the globe, his far-reaching portfolio includes work in Spain, France, Kuwait, Russia, Argentina, Venezuela, Paraguay, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, as well as the United States. Each project González works on benefits from the breadth of his experience, along with his sophisticated eye and attention to detail. Although his hallmark is elegant bespoke interiors, González also understands – and enjoys – construction. The result is he becomes intimately involved with the design and construction of spaces – and his loyal repeat clients benefit from this passion.
González has a knack for making every space feel personal, and clients are appreciative of how he understands them so completely. Because he approaches every project with empathy, he is able to get to the heart of each client’s desires for their project and understand their unique taste and lifestyle. Environments are then carefully curated to individual personalities. This focused and timeless approach works to create eloquent, personal, and livable interiors.
